6 DAYS 5 NIGHTS BLACK SEA TOUR

1.DAY: Samsun – Arrival Day
Meeting with the guide at the airport and transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is yours to explore the city. Overnight in Samsun.

2.DAY: Samsun – Ordu – Giresun
After breakfast, we have a sightseeing in Samsun and visit Archeological museum, paying special attention to the mosaic floor that was discovered at Amisos (ancient city of Samsun). Afterwards, enjoyable drive to Ordu along with the impressive sights of nature, forests and Black sea. Visit to the church which is built by King of the Pontus Farnakes I. The Amazons used the church as a temple. Later on, arrival to Ordu. Ride to Boztepe by cable car to have a top view of Ordu city from Boztepe (485m). In the end, we drive to Giresun. Overnight in Giresun.

3.DAY: Giresun – Macka – Sumela – Gumushane – Zigana

After breakfast, departure from the hotel. Visit to Giresun Castle (As an alternative we can visit the tomb of The Topal Osman who was the one of the most famous people in the city Ordu during World War I) our journey takes us through the spectacular scenery of the Pontic Mountains as we make our way inland up a narrow valley to the Sumela Monastery that was founded in the 6th century to house an icon of the Virgin Mary, supposedly painted by St. Luke the Evangelist. The monastery was inhabited by Greek Orthodox monks until 1923 when the Greeks were expelled from Turkey in an exchange of populations. The monastery still contains many frescoes of Biblical scenes. Later on we drive you up to Zigana Mountain, crossing the mountain with spectacular views of villages on Pontic Mountains. We arrive in Gumushane to visit Karaca Cave, considered the most beautiful places in Turkey for its colours and formations. At the end of the tour, check in to our wooden hotel in Zigana Mountain and overnight.

4.DAY: Trabzon – Uzungol
After breakfast we drive to Trabzon, the birth place of Suleyman the Magnificent in the 13th century, Trabzon was the centre of a prosperous Christian empire and has some beautiful churches, including the beautiful church of Hagia Sophia, built in the mid 13th century as a monastery church and later converted to a mosque after the Ottoman conquest of 1461. Later used by the Turks as a military storehouse and a fever hospital, it is now a museum with magnificent frescoes covering its walls. Outside the city we visit Ataturk’s beautiful summer mansion situated high on a hillside overlooking the Black Sea. Then drive to Uzungöl. It is a hidden paradise in the Pontic Alps. We walk around the lake and village. After this nice experience we check-in to he hotel and stay the night.

5.DAY: Rize – Camlihemsin – Ayder
After breakfast, we are leaving from Uzungol. Short break in Rize for panoramic view of the city from the Botany Garden. Visit to kiwi and tea fields here, then we arrive to Firtina (Storm) Valley which takes us to Ayder Plateau. Before arriving in Ayder, we see Camlihemsin and Senyuva Bridge. Arrival in Ayder before sunset, and slow trekking to Gelintulu Fall which is the most beautiful in the region. In the end we check-in to our wooden hotel and stay the night.
 

6. DAY: Ayder – Sarp – Trabzon -
After breakfast, we have time to explore the beautiful Alpine Plateau of Ayder until noon. Traditionally dressed village ladies, thermal springs, waterfalls dropping down from hundreds of metres and beautiful plateau houses are a part of our tour. In the afternoon we drive to Turkish – Georgian border on Eastern Black Sea coast, after viewing Georgia from Sarpi Gate, we drive along the Black Sea coast and reach airport hoping to welcome you o another excursion with us soon.
