CLASSICAL TURKEY AND GREECE COMBO TOUR 9 DAYS 8 NIGHTS

1.Day: Istanbul – Historical Istanbul Culture and City Tour

Meeting with the guide at the airport and visit the ancient Basilica Hagia Sophia, built by the Constantine the Great in the 4th century and reconstructed by Justinian in the 6th century, known as one of the architectural marvels all of times. Later on, we go to the Topkapı Palace- the great palace of the Ottoman sultans from the 15th to the 19th centuries housing an exquisite collection of crystal, silver, and Chinese porcelain, robes worn by the sultans and their families, the famous jewels of the Imperial Treasury, miniatures, the Holy Mantle; enshrining relics of the Prophet Mohammed.

Sultanahmet the Blue Mosque settled across the Hagia Sophia, built in the 16th century by the architect Mehmet . This mosque is famous for its magnificent interior decoration of blue Iznik tiles.

After free time for shopping, we are moving on to the Ancient Hippodrome, the scene of chariot races, with the three monuments; the Obelisk of Theodosius, the bronze Serpentine Column and the Column of Constantine. After a lunch break we are heading to the Grand Bazaar. In this labyrinth of streets and passages are more than 4,000 shops have their own areas: the goldsmiths’ street, the carpet sellers, Turkish arts and crafts; such as hand painted ceramic plates, hand-honed copperware, brassware and trays, water ewers, onyx-ware and meerschaum pipes. Transfer to Taksim. You have a chance to promenade along the locals shop at the 1.5 km-long Istiklal Street which is next to the Taksim Square where you find all kinds of local and international brands, and many restaurants and cafes. Afterwards, transfer to the airport


Please Note: St. Sophia Museum is closed on Mondays, Topkapi Palace is closed on Tuesdays and The Grand Bazaar is closed on Sundays.

2.Day: Istanbul – Sahabahs Of Istanbul and Islamıc Tour – Bolu

After breakfast we visit the grand mosque built in the city, the Eyup Sultan Mosque (1458). Later on, we visit the tombs of the Sahabes’, famously known in Turkey by representing the first generation of Muslims, who came as far as Istanbul and spreaded the city. The small Sahabe Cemetery is just outside Egrikapi Gate and it seems like a standard Muslim cemetery.

After the Sahabahs tour we visit Ahi Evran Celebi Mosque and Spice Bazaar where you can shop for nuts and spices. Moving on to the Bosporus Cruise. We have a chance to explore the magical Istanbul through the Bosphorus boat cruise, with the view of palaces and manors. In this traditional excursion, going through water-border, you will see both İstanbul’s European and Asian side. When the boat cruise in Asian side is done, we go to the Camlica Hill from where you will be enjoying the panoramic view of the city. We are sure that watching the city with a nice hot cup of Turkish tea will be a memorable experience. Transfer to Bolu. Upon arrival, we have a panoramic view on one of Turkey’s most beautiful lake- the lake Golcuk. Overnight in Bolu.

3.Day: Bolu – Ankara – Cappadocia

After breakfast we drive to Ankara and visit the Atatürk Mausoleum, a magnificent structure built on high grounds to commemorate the founder of the Turkish Republic, Kemal Ataturk. Afterwards on our way we have a break by the famous Salt Lake. Our journey continues to visit the mausoleum of Haji Bektash Veli, the well-known Sufi poet and Islamic philosopher from 13th century. End of the day we reach to Cappadocia and transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Cappadocia.

4.Day: Cappadocia Tour with Underground City and Goreme Open Air Museum

After breakfast, drive to Derinkuyu, the underground city, one of the best preserved and deepest underground cities in Cappadocia. Derinkuyu underground city is 55 meters deep and 8 levels open to visitors, then visit to Uchisar Castle, the highest point of Cappadocia. After Uchisar, visit to Goreme Open Air Museum - the Heart of Cappadocia. Goreme Open Air Museum is famous for frescoes, dating back to 10th century, describing the life of Jesus Christ and monks. Next stop is Cavusin, which is an abandoned village with old Greek cave houses. Visit to the pottery work shop, to see how potteries are made. Moving to Pasabagi where you can see three - headed fairy chimneys. After Pasabagi visit another workshop to see Cappadocian handwoven carpets and kilims. Next stop is Devrent Valley, which is also called Imagination Valley, where you can see natural rock formations looking like animals. Last stop is Three Beauties, three beautiful fairy chimneys with their hats, which is the symbol of Cappadocia. Later the Pottery Factory in Avanos - a town famous for small pottery and carpets. Embark on an educational tour to learn art of pottery making and carpet weaving school. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight in Cappadocia.

5.Day: Cappadocia – Konya – Pamukkale

After an early breakfast we drive to Konya.On the way to Konya we visit 13th century Sultanhani Caravanserai, a "hotel" for ancient traders and travellers. We reach Konya and go to a restaurant for lunch with special Turkish pizza. After lunch we visit the imposing green - tiled Mausoleum of Mevlana, the mystic founder of the Sufi sect (Whirling Dervishes). After the Konya Mevlana tour, drive to Pamukkale, check-in to the hotel. Overnight in Pamukkale.

6.Day: Pamukkale - Ephesus Tour - Kusadası

After breakfast we start to discover Pamukkale. Visit to the travertines of Pamukkale (cotton castle) and the ruins of Hierapolis, then walk around this natural phenomenon and optionally relax in the waters of the natural springs. After the tour, we transfer to Kusadasi to visit a place which continues to perform one of the oldest arts of Turkey; a carpet weaving centre. On our way we visit one of the famous leather production centers of the region, where we have a chance to get a good factory bargin-discount on leather goods. Arrival in Selcuk city for tour of Ephesus, one of the best preserved ancient sites in the world , visit the Temple of Artemis, Curetes street, famous Roman baths, Celsius Library, Grand theatre and House of the Virgin Mary. Transfer to the hotel and overnight in Kusadası.

7.Day: Kusadası – İzmir – Athens – Acropolis – Parthenon

After breakfast, transfer to Izmir airport for your flight to Athens. Upon your arrrival to Athens International airport, you are met and transferred to your hotel and the rest of the day is yours to explore this ancient city.

In the afternoon you have a half day Athens tour and visit Acropolis, stop at the stadium where the first Olympic Games of the modern era were held. Admire the Olympian Zeus and Hadrian’s Arch. In the Acropolis visit to the museum, the towering entrance of Propylaia, the Temple of Nike and the most famous Greek relics, the Parthenon. Overnight in Athens

8.Day: Athens – Acropolis – Parthenon

After breakfast transfer to Izmir airport for your flight to Athens. Upon your arrrival to Athens International airport, you are met and transferred to your hotel and the rest of the day is yours to explore this ancient city.

In the afternoon you have a half day Athens tour and visit Acropolis, stop at the stadium where the first Olympic Games of the modern era were held. Admire the Olympian Zeus and Hadrians Arch.
