1. Day: Sarajevo -
Meeting with the guide at the airport and transfer to the city center. Visit to 1992-1995 war graves and Bosnian first President Alija Izetbegovic’s martyrdom near city center- Bascarsija. Afterwards, walk to Bascarsija, Europe’s most exceptional old bazaar center. Later on, visit to Kursumlija Gazi Husrev Bey’s theological school- the one that continuously educating students ever since it was built in the Ottoman Empire’s era. After that, tour goes on with visit to the Suleiman the Magnificent’ s cousin’s mosque.
First day goes on by visiting the library that was bombed and set on fire for days during the war, and milions of precious handwritings were burned; visit to Clock tower (Sahat- kula) with the geniune astronomical clock; Catholic Cathedral ( Katedrala srca Isusova); Orthodox churches and Sarajevo synagogue; later on visit to the Emperor’s Mosque ( the one that was built as a present to Mehmed the Conqueror); visit to the Latin Bridge( named Latinska ćuprija), the bridge which became a casus belli of World War I.
Afterwards, free time for coffee or tea and arrival at the hotel for overnight in Sarajevo.
2. Day : Sarajevo – Mostar – Pociteli – Blagaj - Sarajevo
After the breakfast in the hotel, visit to Mostar. Journey lasts for 2.5 hours with the breaks . Our first break is in Konjic, where we see famous Ottoman Konjic bridge, repaired thanks to the generous donation of Republic of Turkey. We also make a small break for shopping at the Handicraft Konjic; afterwards a coffee break at the shore of the Neretva river.
After Konjic, we stop by the city of Jablanica , famous for the Battle of the Neretva in 1943 and the rail bridge over the river, blown up while a train was in the middle of crossing. Afterwards, our journey goes on to Počitelj, an old Ottoman citadel, located on the left bank of the river Neretva. After visit to Počitelj citadel we continue to the Blagaj Tekija, Tekija Dervish Monastery that gives peace to eyes and souls for the last 550 years.
We have coffe or Turkish tea break, and we move on towards legendary bridge of Bosnian history – Mostar Old Bridge/ Stari Most. Old Bridge Area of the Old City of Mostar is part of UNESCO’s World Heritage List.
Visit to the Old City’s never lost history’s marks- Koski Mehmed Pasha Mosque and the view on the city from its viewpoint. We visit Karadžoz-begova mosque and war graves. Later on, we have free time for shopping. Afterwards, moving back to Sarajevo. On our way back to the hotel in Sarajevo, we stop in Jablanica for famous roasted lamb speciality for dinner. Overnight in hotel.
3. Day : Sarajevo – Travnik – Sarajevo
After the breakfast we are going to Travnik, a city known as the city of Bosnian Vizier in the Ottoman period. Visit to the village of Ahmići,a place where many innocent people were killed during the war; walk throughout the streets of Travnik; visit to historical Ottoman citadel and 300 years old Ibrahim pasha Theological school. We also visit a place where Mehmed the Conqueror drank water from- spring named Plava Voda. Returning to our hotel in Sarajevo. Overnight in hotel.
4. Day : Sarajevo
After the breakfast we start our Sarajevo tour. We have a chance to see the Sarajevo Tunnel of Hope and it is museum, constructed during the Seige of Sarajevo, and for two and a half years it enabled food, war supplies, and humanitarian aid to come into the city, and people to get out.
Visit to Vrelo Bosne National Park. Afterwards, we are going to the city centre- Baščaršija for shopping. Afterwards, transfer to the airport hoping to see you on another excursion again with us.
