CLASSICAL TURKEY TOUR 8 DAYS 7 NIGHTS

1.Day: Istanbul – Bursa

Meeting with the guide at the airport and transfer to Bursa with ferryboat and cruising through Marmara Sea. Today we visit Bursa with all famous and Islamic heritage places. Our first visit is to Green Mosque and Green Tomb. You will be enchanted when you see the mosque which is encrusted with magnificent iznik tiles. After Ulucamii (Grand Mosque) which is one of the most attractive examples of the Ottoman architecture in the transition period, we visit the famous Silk bazaar. After Bursa City tour transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Bursa.

2.Day: Bursa – Izmir – Kusadası

breakfast departure from the hotel for Kusadası. First we visit Clock tower and Kordon Bay in İzmir. On the way to Kusadasi we visit Special Local Delights Shop and overnight in Kusadası.
 

3.Day: Kusadası - Ephesus Tour - Pamukkale

After breakfast departure from the hotel for Ephesus, one of the best preserved ancient sites in the world , visit the Temple of Artemis, Curetes street, famous Roman baths, Celsius Library, Grand theatre and House of the Virgin Mary. Lunch break around 13:00pm. After lunch, we visit a workshop which continues to perform as one of the oldest arts of Turkey; a carpet weaving centre. Afterwards,an enjoyable drive to Pamukkale. On our way we visit one of the famous leather production centers of the region, where we have a chance to get a good factory bargin-discount on leather goods. After a shopping break, arrival to Pamukkale. Visit to the calcium terraces of Pamukkale (cotton castle) and the ruins of Hierapolis, then walk around this natural phenomenon and optionally relaxing in the waters of the natural springs. After the tour,return to the hotel. Overnight in Pamukkale.

4.Day: Pamukkale – Konya - Cappadocia

After an early breakfast we drive to Konya. Upon arrival in Konya, we go to a restaurant for lunch with special Turkish pizza. After the lunch, visit to the imposing green - tiled Mausoleum of Mevlana, the mystic founder of the Sufi sect (Whirling Dervishes). After Konya Mevlana, tour our next visit is to a 13th century Sultanhani Caravanserai, a "hotel" for ancient traders and travellers. Drive to Capadoccia and check-in to the hotel. If you wish to join our optional activity of Ballooning for the next day, please contact your guide. Overnight in Cappadocia.

5.Day: Cappadocia Tour with Underground City and Goreme Open Air Museum

After breakfast, drive to Derinkuyu, the underground city, one of the best preserved and deepest underground cities in Cappadocia. Derinkuyu underground city is 55 meters deep and 8 levels open to visitors, then visit to Uchisar Castle, the highest point of Cappadocia. After Uchisar, visit to Goreme Open Air Museum - the Heart of Cappadocia. Goreme Open Air Museum is famous for frescoes, dating back to 10th century, describing the life of Jesus Christ and monks. Next stop is Cavusin, which is an abandoned village with old Greek cave houses. Visit to the pottery work shop, to see how to make potteries. Moving to Pasabagi, where you can see three - headed fairy chimneys. After Pasabagi visit another workshop to see Cappadocian handwoven carpets and kilims. Next stop is Devrent Valley, which is also called Imagination Valley, where you can see natural rock formations looking like animals. Last stop is Three Beauties, three beautiful fairy chimneys with their hats, which are the symbol of Cappadocia. Later the Pottery Factory in Avanos - a town famous for small potteries and carpets. Embark on an educational tour to learn art of pottery making and carpet weaving school. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight in Cappadocia.

6.Day: Cappadocia – Ankara – Bolu

After breakfast, we visit the mausoleum of Haji Bektash Veli, the well-known Sufi poet and Islamic philosopher from the 13th century. Then we head to Ankara – the capital of Turkish Republic. On our way we have a break by the famous Salt Lake. Upon arrival to Ankara, we visit the Ataturk Mausoleum, a magnificent structure built on high grounds to commemorate the founder of the Turkish Republic, Kemal Ataturk. Afterwards, our journey continues to Bolu. Upon arrival, we have a panoramic view on one of the Turkey’s most beautiful lakes- the lake Golcuk. Overnight in Bolu.

7.Day: Bolu – İstanbul - Sahabahs of Istanbul and Islamıc Tour

After breakfast we enjoy our drive towards Istanbul. Upon arrival in the Asian side, we go to Camlica Hill from where we enjoy the panoramic view of the city. We are sure that watching the city with a nice hot cup of Turkish tea will be a memorable experience. Afterwards, we visit the grand mosque, the Eyup Sultan Mosque (1458). Later on, we visit the tombs of the Sahabes’, famously known in Turkey by representing the first generation of Muslims, who came as far as Istanbul and spreaded the city. The small Sahabe Cemetery is just outside Egrikapi Gate and it seems like a standard Muslim cemetery.

After the Sahabahs’ tour moving on to the Bosporus Cruise. We have a chance to explore the magical Istanbul through the Bosphorus boat cruise, with the view of luxury manors and palaces along the coast. In this traditional excursion, going through water-border, you will see both İstanbul’s European and Asian side. After the tour, we visit Ahi Evran Celebi Mosque and Spice Bazaar where you can shop for nuts and spices. Departure to hotel. Overnight in Istanbul.

8.Day: Historical Istanbul Culture and City Tour

After breakfast we visit the ancient Basilica Hagia Sophia, built by the Constantine the Great in the 4th century and reconstructed by Justinian in the 6th century, known as one of the architectural marvels of all times. Later on, we go to the Topkapı Palace- the great palace of the Ottoman sultans from the 15th to the 19th centuries housing an exquisite collection of crystal, silver, and Chinese porcelain, robes worn by the sultans and their families, the famous jewels of the Imperial Treasury, miniatures, the Holy Mantle; enshrining relics of the Prophet Mohammed.Sultanahmet Blue Mosque settled across the Hagia Sophia, built in the 16th century by the architect Mehmet is our next stop. This mosque is famous for its magnificent interior decoration of blue Iznik tiles. After free time for shopping, we are moving on to the Ancient Hippodrome, the scene of chariot races, with the three monuments; the Obelisk of Theodosius, the bronze Serpentine Column and the Column of Constantine. After lunch break we are heading to the Grand Bazaar. In this labyrinth of streets and passages are more than 4,000 shops with each trade having its own area: the goldsmiths’ street, the carpet sellers, Turkish arts and crafts; such as hand painted ceramic plates, hand-honed copperware, brassware and trays, water ewers, onyx-ware and meerschaum pipes. Transfer to Taksim. You have a chance to prominade along the local shops at the 1.5 km-long Istiklal Street which is next to the Taksim Square. Here you will find all kinds of local and international brands, and many restaurants and cafes. Afterwards, transfer to the airport hoping to welcome you again on another excursion.
